Possession
Negasi slapped the gloves harshly on this arms as he tried to move the large boulder obstructing the mouth of the cave with his wife, Marjani. Both armed with head torches, overalls, hard metal helmets and padding protecting their entire body, they set off into the cave to begin their first archaeology project together.
Newly wedded couple Negasi and Marjani left their whole lives back in Ethiopia and embarked on a six month sea journey to Australia for the experience as their honeymoon. Little did they know what was in store nipping at their humanity.
Myth believes that the cave lurked a deep dark evil and a jinn that possesses human souls. The locals believe the cave was blocked off by their ancestors who have long since moved into another planet.
The couple had spent weeks before blowing up bits off the mountain just to unveil the cave. It wasn't an easy task but determination pulsed through their veins. Finally they had reached the eye of the storm. The Cave had finally been open and they could get to the juicy parts.
As soon as they got into the cave, the aura seemed to shift to something darker, sinister. It was as though they were being watched. The Cave was so dark and broody, they could barely see. Inscribed on the walls of the cave were drawings of fire, weird creatures, skeleton and amulets that definitely spooked the dark mood.
Marjani and Negasi seemed to acknowledge their fear by looking and each other and holding hands but they silently agreed to go further inside. About 25 feet into the cave, their torches started to flicker and their heard whispers around them. The lights went off and rocks from above began to fall. One of them as big as a briefcase hit Marjani and she fell unconscious on the ground. Negasi promptly proceeded to carry her as he ran out of the cave. Things weren't looking good anymore.
When Negasi got out, he placed Marjani gently on the ground and lifted the boulder serving as a door to back the the mouth of the cave. He sighed in relief as they both made it out alive. They would come back tommorow prepared, he thought.
Negasi then made Marjani sniff smelling salts and then she woke up. After taking a sip of water, Marjani had gained little energy. They just needed to climb down the mountain now and go back to their hotel. Marjani was the lead so that Negasi could watch her from behind.
Little did Negasi know there was a small crack open in the cave. The trapped evil jinn could now escape, the door had been left open. It crept to Negasi from behind, sunk it's teeth into his neck and ate through it. The jinn ate people and possessed them. Marjani shrieked when she heard Negasi scream. Her husband had been brutally murdered in front of her. She started running for her life but she had little energy to move. The jinn caught up with her and possessed her.
It was finally happy. It had been trapped for over a billion years and now it could roam free in the body of Marjani.
